Herbal Tea blends for Allergy Relief can be very effective in fighting off those seasonal allergies...and I'd love to show you how to make my favorite.

My husband suffers allergies almost year around, and while he occasionally takes an OTC medication, he prefers to drink a warm cup of my Allergy Relief Tea blend each morning. The combination of these herbs help in multiple ways. Some are soothing to irritated airways, while others work to open the airway and allow for easier breathing.
Peppermint is one of the Herbs in this Allergy Relief Tea Blend, and is helpful in reducing the body's histamine response. Mullein is another Herb in this blend and helps reduce sneezing, itching and nasal congestion. Stinging Nettles has been long used to treat allergies and is especially helpful to reduce sneezing and itching. The final Herb in this blend is Echinacea and its immune boosting properties are useful in helping the body deal with allergy symptoms.

These 4 herbs combine to create a very powerful blend. As with all of my herbal remedies, I must put out my disclaimer...I am not a Medical Doctor, I am a Community Herbalist and the herbal information I share is simply the traditional uses of Herbs. No claims for cures or treatments are being made, and it is up to each person to research the constituents of each herb and decide if they feel they can ingest them. If you decide to use an Herbal Medicine, and if you are currently taking a Pharmaceutical, be sure to double check for any contraindications.

So how do we make this Allergy Relief Tea Blend? It's very simple. While you'll have to decide how large of a batch you'd like to make, the basic ratios are the same:
2 parts Stinging Nettles
1.5 parts Peppermint
1 part Mullein
1/4 part Echinacea
This tea can be enjoyed hot or cold. Simply infuse a heaping teaspoon full in about a cup of hot water and allow it to brew for 15 minutes. Covering the tea while seeping will trap in the volitile oils and enhance the potency of your tea. You can sweeten the tea if desired, and I highly recommend using honey or stevia, or another natural sweetener instead of sugar or an artificial sweetener. If you prefer cold tea, just brew it following the hot tea direction and then pour over ice.
